Matt Cardona Wishes Nick Aldis Well In His Future Endeavors

Matt Cardona credits Nick Aldis for the work he did as the face of the NWA and wishes him well in his future endeavors.

Aldis announced that he handed in his notice to the NWA, so he will be a free agent on January 1, 2023. The promotion subsequently suspended the former world champion and pulled him from NWA Hard Times 3.

Speaking on the NWA’s podcast, This Is Pro Wrestling, Cardona commented on the situation by noting that he has unfinished business with “The National Treasure” and stating that Aldis did a great job representing the company. He then wishes Aldis well in his future endeavors.

“That’s unfortunate. Nick and I, we have some unfinished business,” Cardona said. “We were supposed to wrestle at Alwayz Ready. Obviously I got injured. I feel that he is a great opponent of mine. I don’t think he liked when I came to NWA because it was his baby, and he did such a great job representing the NWA and being the face of the NWA. He’s got all the tools, and I wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Cardona was scheduled to defend the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship against Aldis at NWA Alwayz Ready in June. The match was cancelled when Cardona suffered a torn bicep. He will challenge for the title at NWA Hard Times 3 in a three-way match that includes the reigning champion, Trevor Murdoch, and Tyrus.
