Report: WWE Made Offer To Steve Austin For Another Match After New Regime Took Over

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin returning to the ring might be a possibility, according to a new report.

Austin retired after his match against The Rock at WWE WrestleMania XIX. He has remained involved with the company over the years, but not in an in-ring capacity. However, “Stone Cold” appeared at WrestleMania 38 Night One and defeated Kevin Owens in a No Holds Barred Match. He also dropped Theory, Vince McMahon, and Pat McAfee with Stunners the following night. At the time, word started spreading that Austin had a good time, and he was open to potentially getting involved again in the future.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, sources have noted that WWE wants Austin to do more with the company, and the new regime has offered the Hall of Famer another match. He competed at WrestleMania 38 under the Vince McMahon regime, but Triple H took over as the head of WWE creative after McMahon retired in July.

These sources weren’t sure whether the offer for another match was for a Saudi Arabia show, WrestleMania, or another event, and while WrestleMania was the presumption, one source indicated that the two sides were far apart on terms.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
