Thunder Rosa Officially Relinquishes AEW Women’s Title, Jamie Hayter Named Undisputed Champion

Thunder Rosa is no longer AEW Women’s World Champion, and Jamie Hayter is now the true champion.

During the November 23 episode of AEW Dynamite, Renee Paquette announced in front of the crowd that AEW and Thunder Rosa have reached an agreement for Rosa to relinquish the AEW Women’s title due to the uncertainty of when she will return from injury. As a result, Jamie Hayter has officially been declared the new AEW Women’s World Champion with no “interim” attached.

Following the news that Rosa would not be able to defend the title against Toni Storm at All Out, Tony Khan booked Storm in a four-way interim title match against Hayter, Hikaru Shida, and Britt Baker. Storm emerged victorious and held the title until she lost to Hayter at Full Gear on November 19. Commentary noted that because Rosa did not return, Storm’s reign is now officially recognized as part of the lineal title history after being called the interim titleholder initially.

Thunder Rosa took to Twitter after the announcement to thank fans for the support while noting they deserve a present champion.

Following the announcement, Hayter kicked off her reign with a win in tag team action; she and Britt Baker beat Willow Nightingale & Skye Blue and Anna Jay A.S. & Tay Melo in a three-way match.
