Alex Riley talks his return to the ring.
On December 8, former WWE star Alex Riley returned to wrestling for the first time since 2016. He teamed with Tyrus to score a victory over Dante Drago and Jack Tomlinson at Create A Pro Wrestling’s 5th Annual Major Pod Holiday Toy Drive. Following the match, Riley recently appeared on The Tyrus & Timpf Podcast to talk about what it was like returning after six years away from the squared circle.
“I clearly had some rust on me and want to be in a little bit better shape, but I was really grateful to be out there. I was grateful to be there, and God bless you for walking out there with me,” Riley said. “It was a great charity event, and thank you to Brian Myers [and Matt Cardona]. With all due respect, there’s some things I have to clean up for sure. I plan on cleaning those up and getting back out there for another one.”
Following his WWE release in May 2016, Riley began dabbling in acting. He appeared on one episode of GLOW on Netflix in 2017. He’s also had roles in films such as Glass Jaw and Bennett’s War. It remains to be seen when Riley will compete again after his recent return.
