Ricky Starks wants to keep expanding on the role fashion plays in professional wrestling.
During a recent appearance on Casual Conversations with The Classic, Ricky Starks spoke about how fashion plays a role in pro wrestling. Starks said most wrestlers have no fashion sense at all, but he believes it’s an equal part of what makes a successful wrestler.
“I really appreciate [Seth Rollins’] fashion, I really like the stuff that he wears. To me, it should go hand in hand, and I really do enjoy fashion outside of wrestling. I think it’s fun to wear what I want, to express how I feel that day. Obviously, not a lot of people share that mindset, right? I’m not talking about you just come out and you wear a suit and some brown shoes, and you’re fashionable. No, that’s cool, that’s bare minimum. But it got to the point where I was doing walk-ins, I filmed a few walk-ins that I posted on my Instagram because I was trying to get that started. At the end of the day, bro, most wrestlers ain’t got a lick of fashion sense, right? They barely have a lick of business sense, so to expect these people to even know how to dress is asking a lot.”
Starks also spoke about potentially having a stylist in the future, noting it’s something he’s open to doing.
“I’m open to…yes, I can style myself, but I’m so curious about other people’s viewpoint on me and style, that I’ve been looking for a stylist to work with. Because, I want to keep that expanding, but yeah, there’s not a lot of people that dress up that should, and I don’t know if it’s because of a lack of effort or what, but hey, you know what, whatever.”
