Tag Team Title Match, Bryan Danielson In Action, And More Set For 1/4 AEW Dynamite

More matches are set for the first AEW Dynamite of 2023.

Coming out of the December 30 episode of Rampage, the card will feature another title match, as The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal on January 4. After weeks of taunting, Jarrett and Lethal defeated Bowens and Billy Gunn on the December 23 episode of Rampage to set up the title match.

In the women’s division, TBS Champion Jade Cargill and Red Velvet will attempt to get on the same page when they face Kiera Hogan and Skye Blue. This comes after Velvet prevented Cargill from slapping Hogan on Rampage, though the champion still defeated Kiera to retain the gold. After the match, Velvet left without The Baddies.

Plus, Bryan Danielson will face Tony Nese for the first time ever. On Rampage, Nese issued the challenge to take on Danielson in his hometown of Seattle. Additionally, AEW World Champion MJF will appear, and fans will hear a medical update on Hangman Page.

After Rampage, Swerve Strickland challenged AR Fox, a man he feuded with in Lucha Underground, to a match on Wednesday.

Below is the updated lineup:

  • TNT Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Darby Allin
  • AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) (c) vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal
  • Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks
  • Bryan Danielson vs. Tony Nese
  • Jade Cargill & Red Velvet vs. Kiera Hogan & Skye Blue
  • Swerve Strickland vs. AR Fox
  • AEW World Champion MJF appears
  • Status update on “Hangman” Adam Page

WrestleZone will have live coverage of the show as it airs.
