AEW Dynamite Viewership Decreases On 1/4, Demo Rating Drops

AEW Dynamite viewership saw a decrease on January 4, which was headlined by an AEW TNT Title match between Samoa Joe and Darby Allin.

According to Showbuzz Daily, 864,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, and it drew a 0.26 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership was down from the December 28 episode, when 876,000 viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.28 rating in the same demographic.

With the decrease in viewership, Dynamite took the fourth spot in the demographic among cable originals overall Wednesday night. On cable, they were only defeated by ESPN’s coverage of NBA basketball, according to Showbuzz Daily.

This week’s show kicked off with Ricky Starks defeating Chris Jericho. The main event saw Darby Allin defeat Samoa Joe to become the AEW TNT Champion for the second time in his hometown of Seattle. Following the matchup, Sting came out and celebrated with Allin.
