Sami Zayn reflects on his relationship with Kevin Owens.
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens have been tied together since the start of their careers. Fans have watched them go through the best and worst times, whether in Ring of Honor, PWG, NXT, or on the WWE main roster.
Now, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are again at a crossroads in their relationship. Zayn failed to defeat Roman Reigns at the WWE Elimination Chamber, and on the subsequent episode of Monday Night Raw, he officially asked Kevin Owens to help him take down The Bloodline. Kevin Owens refused, leaving Sami dejected in the ring.
In a WWE digital exclusive, Sami Zayn reflected on his relationship with Kevin Owens, telling Cathy Kelley that there will always be hurt feelings on both sides, but they need one another and always have.
“I don’t know if I would call it extending the olive branch, If I’m being honest, because there were hurt feelings, definitely on his side, and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t complicated on my side. I just recognize the situation here. Look, for better or worse, we’ve needed each other our whole careers to lift each other up. Even when we were on the opposite side of the fence, we always brought out the best in each other. We always were able to accomplish things because of the other’s existence, and if he’s as dedicated as I am to making sure that we see the end of The Bloodline, I know the only way to get it done is together. It doesn’t seem like he wants to go there. So I don’t know. I don’t know; this is an unfinished story.”
Sami Zayn explained last night on Monday Night Raw that he has learned that, in WWE, the story is never truly over. Now, Zayn is looking to right some personal wrongs on the Road to WrestleMania.
