Cody Rhodes Discusses Possibility Of Wrestling His Brother Dustin Again

Though they work in separate companies right now, Cody Rhodes believes he could wrestle his brother, Dustin Rhodes, again in the future.

Last year, Cody Rhodes departed All Elite Wrestling to return to WWE. Meanwhile, his brother, Dustin, remained in AEW as a coach and part-time performer. As Dustin appears to wind down his in-ring career, many have wondered if the two would ever share the ring one more time. According to Cody, the likelihood could go either way.

“I could say 100% it would happen because that’s how families work. You find each other again. I could also say 0%. And the reason I could say 0% is because [AEW] Double or Nothing was such a difficult match for both of us. It was widely respected by the industry. It was really special to us both. Very hard to top, as far as against one another,” he told The AJ Awesome Show.

Cody acknowledged that at this stage in his brother’s career, Dustin “has earned the right to walk away.” Cody also doesn’t want to “hamper that” in any fashion. “[A match with Dustin] will definitely happen, or it definitely won’t happen because there’s nowhere in the middle on a repeat of something with Dustin and then then myself,” Cody said.

For the match to even have a possibility of happening, though, Rhodes said it’d have to be on WWE grounds. “He’d have to come here. I’m not leaving.”

The last singles match between two came in May 2019 at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view. There, Cody reached “one of the highest honors” in defeating his brother, who he cites as one of his favorites growing up. “[I’m] so very proud of what he’s been able to do, and just unbelievable legacies he’s left.”
