Ruby Soho: I Have A Monumental Amount Of Respect For Saraya

Ruby Soho discusses her respect for Saraya.

Soho and Saraya will face off at AEW Revolution; they will clash with AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter in a three-way match for the title.

Speaking on Fightful’s Grapsody podcast with Will Washington, Righteous Reg, and Phil Lindsey, Soho discussed the upcoming title match. When asked about working with Saraya, Soho stated that she has always been a fan of hers. She noted that Saraya, among others, paved the way for women like her to be accepted in wrestling. Soho emphasized that she has a lot of respect for Saraya, and she’s looking forward to sharing the ring with her.

“I’ve always been a fan of Saraya. I’ve always looked at her as someone who kind of paved the way for a woman like me to be accepted in the wrestling industry. I feel like alternative women, with people like her and Lita, if it wasn’t for them, that I would not have been as accepted as I have been over the last few years. So I definitely have a monumental amount of respect for her, and obviously when my hair was longer and it was black, because women can only be seen as similar by the color and length of their hair, I was compared to her a lot throughout my early days of my career.

“While that was an honor, to be compared to somebody with the talent caliber of her, I was definitely out to show that I was different, and that we are two very different competitors. I think one of the reasons that that is also a dream scenario for people is to see how different we really are, and the one way you can prove that is to step into a ring together. So I’m excited myself to see exactly how that interaction takes place. I’m also excited to step into the ring with somebody I’ve had a lot of respect for for a really long time.”

WrestleZone will have coverage of AEW Revolution as it airs.
