Chris Jericho Has An Offer For A Hallmark Channel Movie

Chris Jericho could have been on The Masked Singer much sooner, but he didn’t want to do it because he thought the concept was dumb.

All Elite Wrestling‘s Chris Jericho was a recent guest on The Sessions with Renee Paquette to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When talking about his projects outside of wrestling, Jericho spoke about doing The Masked Singer and how he declined to do it initially because he thought it was the dumbest idea for a show ever.

“Like the Masked Singer when that came up. I remember they asked me to do it a couple years ago; I said, this is the dumbest idea for a show ever; I don’t want to do it,” Chris Jericho said. “And then they kept asking, kept asking, and then I finally watched it and said, this is actually kind of fun. Sure, I’ll give it a try.

“So that’s kind of like where my new projects come from. I don’t have a list of things. I just kind of have this pool of experience that I draw from that if something fun comes my way that I think I can do and do it at a high level. Well, then there’s no reason not to do it, no matter how unorthodox or outside the box it seems. I like that sort of thing. I always want to think outside the box.”

Jericho was ultimately unmasked and revealed as the man in the “Bride” costume on a 2022 episode of the show.

Jericho also spoke about how having a role in the horror movie Terrifier 2 led to him getting an offer to be in an upcoming Hallmark movie.

“I did a movie a few years ago called Terrifier 2. This movie came out in the fall, and it has Art the Clown as the big killer, and because it’s so violent, it was in the theaters for one day, somebody threw up, and that got around this thing ended up being in theaters for a month and ended up making $10 million on a $200,000 budget,” Chris Jericho said. “So because I was in this movie because I was a big fan of Terrifier 1, now with Terrifier 2, it’s like now Jericho is like oh, so I got an offer to do this horror movie.

“I was just reading an offer which, as you know, in Hollywood, an offer means they’re giving you the part for a Hallmark movie. I’m like, how the f**k am I in a Hallmark movie? How did Terrifier 2 lead to the Hallmark movie? It’s because, well, I did pretty good. The point is, why wouldn’t I do it now because maybe that will lead to something else? I don’t want to be a Hollywood movie star. But I like acting, and if the Hallmark Channel calls, well f**k, why wouldn’t I give it a try? So yeah, all that stuff, it’s kind of all in the mix.”
