The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn) will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) on the April 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.
AEW CEO Tony Khan announced the news in a tweet on March 28. While some fans may have been expecting to see the bout on the March 29 episode of Dynamite, the title match will be part of the lineup for AEW’s return to Long Island.
FTR was absent for several weeks until the duo returned at AEW Revolution and set their sights on The Gunns. Harwood and Wheeler challenged the champions to a title match on the March 22 episode of Dynamite, and when they initially refused, FTR stated that they would leave AEW if they failed to dethrone the champions.
The match comes at an interesting time, as FTR’s AEW contracts are set to expire in April, and Dax Harwood has said they have made a decision, though fans will have to wait and see what it is.
