WWE Superstar Johnny Gargano has spent a large portion of 2023 on the shelf with an injury and Fightful Select has an update on his status.
The report indicates that Gargano reaggravated his existing shoulder injury that originally occurred a few months ago and kept him out for most of January. The injury reportedly got worse after the Royal Rumble and then by the time he had his match with Grayson Waller at NXT Stand & Deliver earlier this month, he was essentially only using one arm.
Backstage sources indicated to Fightful that the hope is the injury can be mended solely using physical therapy instead of needing surgery. It was quickly debunked that the reason why Gargano has been gone is because of Vince McMahon returning to the company in a larger role again. In fact, it was said that McMahon was a key contributor in trying to get Gargano to remain with the company in 2021 when he last left.
