Matt Hardy shares his thoughts on The Firm Deletion match.
Jeff Hardy returned to AEW and joined his brother in his fight against The Firm on the April 12 episode of AEW Dynamite. Matt subsequently announced that the two of them, alongside HOOK and Isiah Kassidy, will take on The Firm in The Firm Deletion match, which will be held at The Hardy Compound.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the AEW star expressed his excitement about the upcoming match.
“It’s gonna be a lot of fun to go back to The Hardy Compound, and I’m really excited to take four-man teams, eight people altogether and have a match at The Hardy Compound,” Hardy said. “That’s something we’ve never done before.
“We did a lot of stuff with Decay, where there were six people that were interacting with one another, obviously that being myself, Jeff, and Queen Rebecca versus Abyss, Crazzy Steve, and Rosemary. But now to have eight people out there, and The Hardy Compound, it always promises to have cameos, it always has special guest appearances.”
Hardy continued by describing how this match will be different, as it will be based more in AEW’s relatively sports-centric product. He stated that the match will be based in reality, and he noted that he believes this approach will be good for the fans.
“I’m excited for this one because I feel like it’s going to be a little different than all the other ones,” Hardy said. “There’s a lot of guys involved, but it’s also going to be based in more of an AEW Universe I feel like than any other cinematic has been. I get the fact that they are a more sports-centric type of promotion, so we’re gonna have some fun, entertaining moments. T
“There’s gonna be a lot of great physicality. It’s gonna be pretty brutal in many ways. A lot of spots that are going to take your breath away, but it’s also going to be based in reality, which I think is going to be very good for the AEW audience.”
Additionally, Hardy teased that fans will see all of the classic House Hardy family members during the match.
