Santino Marella Wants To Keep Wrestling To Give His Kids Lifelong Memories

Santino Marella wants to wrestle long enough for his youngest kids to remember him in the ring.

Santino Marella joined IMPACT Wrestling at the start of 2023 to serve as their on-air Director of Authority. He recently returned to the ring at Rebellion to team with Joe Hendry and Dirty Dango in victory over The Design.

Following his successful in-ring return, Marella spoke to Fabian Ojeda of The Ignorance Is Strength Podcast to discuss his future in the squared circle and whether he thinks a WWE Hall of Fame induction is possible.

“I don’t know. There are a lot of well-respected people that are pretty confident I’m going in. I don’t know,” Marella said. “I hope working for IMPACT doesn’t take away from that anymore. Man, if it happens 10 years from now, that would be cool. My daughter is 27, but I also have a one-year-old and a four-year-old.

“I just wrestled in front of my four-year-old for the first time at the Rebellion pay-per-view. It made me realize that I want to wrestle a little bit just for him and for my younger daughter, just to give them a memory,” Marella revealed. “My son is only four. Do you remember shit from four your whole life? A wrestling match is a big thing, he might remember that or have pictures of it. But I’ll probably have to wrestle when he’s seven or eight just to make sure he remembers the event. I may have to wrestle for a few more years sporadically and give them some lifelong memories.”

When it comes to potentially making more Royal Rumble cameos, that is something Marella is interested in.

“I would like to, especially because a couple years ago I came back as Santina in 2020. So I would actually like to come back as Santino. I think people would really appreciate that.”
