Orlando is reportedly looking to host the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble.
Belal Jaber of WESH 2 reports that Orlando will make a bid to host the Royal Rumble premium live event in 2024; on May 2, The Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee is set to request $850,000 for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to bid on the event. If the bid is approved, the 2024 Royal Rumble would be held at Camping World Stadium on Jan. 27, 2024.
In the report, Jaber wrote that Orange County leaders estimate an attendance of nearly 54,000 people, and when factoring in hotels and other factors, the event could generate $28 million in total for the economy. If the bid does not pass, the funds in question would be returned.
Camping World Stadium last hosted an event with WrestleMania 33 in 2017, which generated a local economic impact of $181 million.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
