Buddy Matthews Clarifies ‘House Rules’ For AEW Trios Title Matches

The house always wins, and for the House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews), they also have a special set of rules.

The “house rules” for the House of Black’s AEW World Trios Championship were first announced in a promo on the May 3 episode of AEW Dynamite. Ahead of the champions’ defense on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Buddy Matthews provided an update.

Taking to Twitter, Matthews explained that the title matches will have 20 counts, as opposed to traditional ten-counts, and they won’t have any rope-breaks. He also clarified that disqualifications will be enforced, and he revealed that the challengers will get to choose the fourth rule in the interest of balance.

Matthews, Black, and King will defend the gold against Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta) and Bandido on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite. WrestleZone will have coverage of the show as it airs.
