Toni Storm Comments On AEW Title Win, Says Interim Championship Was Bullsh*t

Toni Storm discusses winning the AEW Women’s World Championship and stated that the Interim Title was terrible.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Storm defeated Jamie Hayter (after The Outcasts ganged up on her with a pre-match attack) to win the AEW Women’s World Championship. The victory marked her first time winning the proper championship; she previously captured the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship, and her reign was retroactively recognized as part of the true lineage.

During the AEW Double or Nothing Media Scrum, Storm was asked to describe how her second title reign will differ from her first championship run, and she detailed how she has changed.

“Well, the thing about my first reign, like the kind of person that I was when I first became champion here, well, I was a bit of a pushover,” Storm said. “I didn’t really stand up for myself. I used to deal with a lot of bullsh*t, and now I don’t. I don’t take crap from anyone, whether that’s Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker, or nobody. I’ve got a really great group of women guiding me and helping me and supporting me, and so that’s why. It is not going to be the same. I am not going to be taking crap like I did last time because that is how I lost this in the first place.”

Storm also shared her thoughts on her previous reign as the interim champion and noted that it was “BS.” With that in mind, she stated that her second title win felt especially great.

“It felt extra special this time because, I mean, I’m sure we can all agree the interim thing was bullsh*t, right, Tony? Crazy,” Storm said. “That was a tough, terrible time. So it feels great because this is what it should have been the whole time. Wouldn’t you say? Right?”
