Julia Hart has Michael Jackson to blame for getting sent to the principal’s office.
During a recent interview with Taylor Wilde of Wilde On, AEW star Julia Hart was asked if she has thought about what song she wants to be played at her funeral. The answer led to an interesting story involving “The King of Pop.”
“So my favorite artist of all-time is Michael Jackson, and I want the song ‘This Is It’ by Michael Jackson to be played [at my funeral] even though it’s like really sad,” Hart said. “But I was like, ‘I really want people to be sad at my funeral.’ ‘This Is It’ or literally any Michael Jackson song. I always say, ‘If I die, play any Michael Jackson song.'”
When asked if Hart fancies herself a good dancer, the House of Black member recalled being a good dancer prior to being a cheerleader.
“In my free time when I was younger, I definitely danced a lot. I did dance for four years before I even did cheer,” Hart revealed. “But dancing, I’ve always loved to dance, like Michael Jackson. When I was younger, my whole family would sit down at Christmas, and I’d be like, ‘Okay, guys, you’re gonna watch me do the ‘Beat It’ dance.'”
To prove her love for Jackson, Hart recalled a time she blamed it on the boogie in grade school.
“I got in trouble in first grade for grabbing my crotch like Michael Jackson. Just giving you a little backstory. I got in trouble. I had to go to the principal’s office. We were cleaning up and the ‘Clean Up’ song was like ‘clean up, clean up,’ and that’s when I was [grabbing my crotch]. Then this little boy that hated me for some reason was like, ‘Julia’s grabbing her crotch.’ And the teacher was like, ‘Oh my god.’ And then they send us to the principal’s office and the principal was like, ‘Okay, draw what happened,’ and the boy was laughing because I’m getting in trouble. Then they call my mom, ‘Julia’s dancing provocatively,’ and my mom was laughing and she’s like, ‘No, she just loves Michael Jackson. She wasn’t trying to make anyone uncomfortable.’ I didn’t know any better because that’s just what Michael Jackson does.”
