Santana is on his way back to the ring.
In a video the AEW star posted on his Twitter account, Santana can be seen walking in what appears to be New York, and he’s making his way to an unknown location. A subway ride and a long walk later, he arrives at the building. Santana smiles, and the camera cuts to show his wrestling boots dropping to the ground.
The clip seemingly teased that Santana is preparing for his return to the ring. He has not wrestled since the June 29, 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he suffered a torn ACL during the Blood and Guts match. He then had knee surgery, and he has been sidelined ever since.
A recent report from Fightful Select indicated that Santana has been paid throughout his absence, and if his contract was up in September, which had been speculated, AEW could extend his time due to his injury.
