MJF Agrees To Face Hiroshi Tanahashi At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

MJF has a lot on his plate.

During the June 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone began drawing names for the Blind Eliminator tag team tournament to determine new number one contenders for the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

In the midst of Adam Cole and MJF battling it out on the mic over their match ending in a draw on June 14, Schiavone interrupted to announce they were the first two names he drew to team up.

Then as Cole and MJF argued about having to team up, Hiroshi Tanahashi appeared on the tron to address MJF. After Tanahashi spoke, MJF officially accepted the challenge for an AEW World Championship match at Forbidden Door this Sunday.

MJF previously teased that he would not show up to Toronto on Sunday to defend against Tanahashi after the challenge was laid out last week.

Regardless of MJF’s status following Forbidden Door, the full bracket for the Blind Eliminator tournament will be revealed on the June 28 Dynamite.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
