Sting main evented the June 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, and while he scored the win, he also left the show in somewhat rough shape.
“The Icon” teamed up with Darby Allin to face Chris Jericho, who brought back the “Painmaker” persona, and Sammy Guevara in a Tornado Tag Team Match on Wednesday. Sting threw caution to the wind during the bout, and he leapt off a ladder to hit Guevara with a splash through the table. The legend then made Jericho tap out to the Scorpion Death Lock to score the win.
After the show went off the air, Sting stated that his lip would need some stitches following the bout. He also noted that he had a tooth that felt like it had nearly been knocked out, but it was worth it, as he thanked Tony Khan for the opportunity.
