Lio Rush made his official IMPACT Wrestling debut on June 29, and by July 15 at IMPACT Slammiversary, he will have already challenged for the IMPACT X-Division Title.
Rush made an impressive debut on June 29, defeating Jack Price. However, he made the most of his impression during the program’s final minutes. Rush came out and ambushed Chris Sabin when Sabin was trying to protect Alex Shelley from an attack by Nick Aldis. Rush would conclude the show by holding up the X-Division gold.
Sabin indicated in a post-show internet exclusive video that he would give Rush what he wanted, setting up a championship bout for July 15 on pay-per-view.
