MLW’s Court Bauer Comments On Allegations Against Jacob Fatu

Court Bauer says MLW is aware of the allegations against Jacob Fatu.

During an appearance on Fightful’s In The Weeds podcast, Major League Wrestling boss Court Bauer was asked to comment on new allegations against MLW star Jacob Fatu.

NBC 26 in Wisconsin recently reported Jacob Fatu no-showed a Jake’s Network of Hope fundraising event. The organization’s director, Jenn Harper, said Fatu cited a family emergency as reason for his absence, but he cut off all contact with them once Harper asked to be reimbursed. Other promotions, including Pro Wrestling KING in Indiana, have also accused Fatu of no-showing a booking without returning payment.

Bauer told Fightful’s Joel Pearl and Jeremy Lambert that MLW is aware of the accusations and the league is waiting for more information.

“Yeah, what I can say is we’re watching it very carefully, we take it very seriously. Fatu books himself on third-party shows. We have no involvement with that but it’s something we’ve had meetings on,” Bauer said. “We are watching carefully and we continue to monitor it and learn more about it.”

“We work with charities, and I’m not [mentioning it to say] ‘Oh, isn’t that great he does that,’” Bauer added, “but I think a lot of us probably work with charities so when you see something like that, how does it make you feel? So that’s something that we’re genuinely watching.”

Jacob Fatu is currently scheduled to face Calvin Tankman for the MLW National Openweight Championship at the league’s Never Say Never live event on July 8. Fatu has not commented on the allegations against him at this time.
