WWE Considering Smaller Stage For Future MSG Shows To Fit More People In Arena

WWE ran two international shows this year in which they used a much smaller set-up with nearly no stage in order to fit more fans and generate more revenue. Backlash in Puerto Rico and Money In The Bank held in The UK were seen as overwhelmingly successful events.

Many fans wondered why WWE doesn’t consider doing the same thing for shows in the United States that sell out in order to fit more fans into the venue. Madison Square Garden used to be an arena in which WWE used a short aisle entrance set-up, however, that was changed years ago and the normal stage is now used for all TV shows in the USA.

WrestleVotes reported on this subject earlier last week before SmackDown by saying that a source indicated “It’s just not what we do.” SmackDown at MSG turned out to be a massive success and made history by hitting the biggest live gate for an event at Madison Square Garden ever.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men podcast reported that the massive success has caused them to consider running a smaller stage in the future to potentially break the record again. Zarian said, “WWE will be considering running a much smaller stage set up in the future at MSG. It will depend on early ticket sales.”
