Trinity felt the glow after she won the gold at IMPACT Slammiversary.
At the pay-per-view on July 15, Trinity defeated Deonna Purrazzo to win the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship. In doing so, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion won her first title since she left WWE.
In a post-match interview, Trinity commented on her victory.
“I’m glowing,” she said. “I’m living the dream right now. I pictured myself being the Knockouts Champ, and here I am. It’s such a surreal feeling. Gosh, I’m still trying to process it all right now. Deonna is definitely the toughest opponent I have ever faced.
“To be able to go the distance with her and beat her is a huge accomplishment for me. Now the real work begins because it’s gonna be even harder to hold onto this.”
Trinity also shared a picture of herself celebrating her victory with her close friends Mercedes Moné, formerly known as Sasha Banks, and WWE star Tamina. In the post, she wrote, “True friends are great riches.”
Moné was reportedly set to be in attendance at Slammiversary to support Trinity. She was also at Trinity’s IMPACT debut in April. Likewise, Trinity attended NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, where Moné made her NJPW debut.
