Report: Minneapolis Is ‘Possible And Even Likely Location’ For WrestleMania 41

WWE might land in a new host city for WrestleMania 41.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that WWE has “heavily discussed” Minneapolis as a possible and even likely location.” Local city planners had leaked the news, but WWE previously noted that Minneapolis was one of multiple interested candidates.

Per Sapp, U.S. Bank Stadium would the specific location, as baseball season and temperature could prevent WWE from using Target Field. WWE sources noted that they view U.S. Bank Stadium, which seats over 73,000 fans, as a world-class venue. Sapp wrote that the venue is getting more aggressive in hosting non-Vikings related events.

Sapp also noted that Minnesota was in line for a shot to host WrestleMania a few years ago. However, some involved with the city cost Minnesota the chance by leaking the news.

The company last held a premium live event in Minneapolis in 2019; TLC 2019 emanated from the Target Center. Minneapolis previously hosted SummerSlam in 1999.

Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field will host WrestleMania 40 in 2024. WWE held WrestleMania 39 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

WWE Royal Rumble Front-Runner

Sapp also reported that Tampa has been a front-runner for WWE Royal Rumble 2024 for quite some time. PWInsider reported that the city was being considered. However, per Sapp, talent noted that they were told the information couldn’t be provided yet.

Tampa previously hosted the Royal Rumble in 1995. Royal Rumble 2023 emanated from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
