Rhea Ripley will be in action on the July 25 episode of WWE NXT.
The WWE Women’s World Champion will face Lyra Valkyria in a singles match on the show. The news comes after Valkyria challenged Ripley to a match during a WWE Digital Exclusive. She said she wanted to prove herself to Ripley, and the champion accepted. Ripley was set to be on NXT anyway for a segment with “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio.
Ripley and Valkyria have interacted multiple times in recent weeks. “The Eradicator” has offered the NXT star advice during her feud with Jacy Jayne.
The updated card for the July 25 episode of WWE NXT is as follows:
- Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams & Ilja Dragunov vs. Schism (Joe Gacy, Jagger Reid & Rip Fowler)
- Kendo Stick Match: Dana Brooke vs. Cora Jade
- Gable Steveson addresses his future
- Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley kick off the show
WrestleZone will have coverage of the July 25 episode of WWE NXT as it airs on Tuesday.
Shawn Michaels On Rhea Ripley’s Success
Shawn Michaels recently commented on Rhea Ripley’s success. During an interview with Riju Dasgupta for Sportskeeda, he made it clear that he wasn’t surprised.
“When she started out with us in NXT, man, I’m just telling you, you could see her grow. You could see her confidence grow, watch her evolve and just turn into a fantastic performer. Then she came over here to NXT and continued that ascension,” Michaels said. “I’m not surprised one bit at her success on the main roster, and she’s still so very young.”
Ripley won the Women’s World Championship, then known as the SmackDown Women’s Championship, at WrestleMania 39. There, she defeated Charlotte Flair in a hard-fought match.
