FTR comments on the dream match between CMFTR and The Elite.
Since “Brawl Out,” the 2022 altercation involving CM Punk and The Elite, fans have often buzzed about the feud potentially making its way to the ring. Punk returned to AEW in June 2023, and he has teamed up with FTR multiple times. As a result, speculation about a clash between The Elite and CMFTR continues to heat up.
Speaking with Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN Wrestling, Wheeler and Harwood were asked about a potential match between the two trios.
“I think if the cards fall in the right place, and the story is right, and the opportunity calls for it, yeah, you can do it,” Harwood said.
Wheeler stated that there are plenty of moving parts, but wrestling is about making money. He expressed his hope that the match would be more likely as more time passes.
“Yeah, I mean, it’s hard to know with all the moving parts, but I think wrestling is all about making the most money for yourselves and the company you work for,” Wheeler said. “I think that everybody here all agrees with that, and the more time passes, the more likely I think it is that we can get to there. But you never really know. I don’t want to say yes, but I hope so.”
