FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) praises House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) ahead of their match on the August 12 episode of AEW Collision.
On Saturday, FTR and CM Punk will challenge House of Black for the AEW World Trios Championship.
Speaking with Steven Muehlhausen for DAZN Wrestling, Harwood and Wheeler praised the trio. Harwood first highlighted each member of the group.
“I think that House of Black are obviously three incredible professional wrestlers, three incredible talents,” Harwood said. “AEW is lucky to have all three of those guys. I’m a huge fan of Brody. I think he offers something different than probably almost anyone in not just the company, but in all of wrestling. Big, scary dude, looks the way he looks. Presents a real-life fight atmosphere.
“Then Buddy is, I’ve said it a million times, but he’s one of the most athletically gifted wrestlers I’ve ever worked with and have had killer matches that no one else saw except for these little small house shows in Florida back when we were in NXT. Aleister Black is an enigma in himself and a great talent. There’s no one here that wrestles like him. So all three of them stand out and have proved they shine even brighter. “
Cash Wheeler Says House Of Black Has Barely Scratched The Surface
Cash Wheeler then shared his thoughts. He stated that House of Black has a lot of untapped potential. Wheeler also noted that they could be one of the biggest attractions in wrestling.
“I think the three of those guys together, and separately too, but that group has so much untapped potential still,” Wheeler said. “They’ve barely even scratched the surface. All three of the guys could be successful singles wrestlers or they could do any pairing of tag teams. Trios, already the champions obviously. Malakai could be the world champion anytime. Brody and Brody could come after us anytime.
“Whatever you want to do with those guys, I think the three of them together, and with Julia, that should package has such a cool look and such an aura about it. They could be one of the biggest attractions in wrestling, especially now that we have this Saturday show. We have Collision, we have geo extra hours of TV to spread out and get people seen. Now, I think you can really see them flesh out those characters and flesh out everything they’re capable of. That’s really, we’re just scratching the surface, and this is gonna be the start of their real run right here.”
