Mustafa Ali says he is the NXT North American Champion the people need.
After previously announcing that he would begin his campaign for a title shot on the August 15 episode of WWE NXT, Ali did just that. In a passionate campaign-like message, he stated that the people of North America deserved better. Ali declared that they deserve someone who is a champion inside and out.
He vowed to elevate the NXT North American Championship to new heights. He also promised to inspire millions of fans by showing them that they could do great things the right way. Ali said that it was time for a new champion. He stated that the people could trust in Ali.
Ali also referenced NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio’s troubled past, as “he “Prison Dom” briefly spent time behind bars.
At NXT Great American Bash, Mysterio defeated Mustafa Ali and Wes Lee to retain the title. Ali has been determined to get another shot at the gold ever since.
