Santana: Who Gives A Damn Who Fought? Pro Wrestling Had An Amazing Day

All Elite Wrestling star Santana has seemingly commented on the reported altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry. He implied that whatever happened shouldn’t drown out AEW All In.

Taking to Twitter, Santana questioned “who gives a damn about who fought who,” and said that fans should “stop allowing that to drown out the fact that pro wrestling had one of the most amazing days ever.”

The comments seem to be an obvious reference to the confrontation that CM Punk and Jack Perry reportedly got into backstage at AEW All In. For Santana, he doesn’t think that anything like that should diminish what AEW did. The pay-per-view set an all-time attendance mark for a wrestling event in the United Kingdom. It also broke multiple internal records as the highest-grossing event in the company’s history.

What Happened Between CM Punk And Jack Perry At AEW All In?

HOOK and Jack Perry had a match before the main show went live which saw Perry make an audible reference to the camera referring to a backstage altercation with Punk from a few weeks ago. Perry said “Real glass. Go cry me a river.” into the camera after he slammed HOOK through a car windshield.

As first reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Punk and Perry got into a backstage confrontation at the show. Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling went on to report that, per sources, Punk waited in the Gorilla position prior to the show, and he walked up to Perry.

The conversation escalated, and Perry told him to “do something about it.” Punk was then said to have shoved him and eventually put him in a chokehold to neutralize him. Following the confrontation, Punk reportedly left the facility after being told it might make things easier.

Further reports on the situation indicated that Punk had very little interaction with AEW leading up to his arrival in London. This includes sources who noted that Punk had to find his own way to Wembley Stadium after arriving.

Hausman noted that there hadn’t been much contact between Punk and AEW since AEW All In.
