Bianca Belair has been absent from WWE television recently, and a new report shines some light on the situation.
Damage CTRL (IYO SKY, Bayley, and Dakota Kai) attacked Bianca Belair backstage on the August 18 episode of WWE SmackDown. The attack came after Belair and Flair defeated Bayley and SKY. The group specifically targeted Belair’s knee, which she had been selling since her memorable fall at WWE SummerSlam.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reports that the knee injury is a storyline, but Belair has been written off WWE TV for the time being. Sapp wrote that Belair had been planned for some time off, which was factored into creative.
The report notes that the lengths of Belair’s expected absence has ranged from a few weeks to up to three months.

Bianca Belair lost the WWE RAW Women’s Championship, which she held for over 400 days, to Asuka at WWE Night of Champions. At WWE SummerSlam, “The EST” beat Asuka and Charlotte Flair to win the WWE Women’s Championship. However, right the match, SKY cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase. She then pinned Belair to win the title.
