More Details On John Cena’s Current WWE Run, How The SAG-AFTRA Strike Factors In

John Cena is back in WWE for the next several weeks, but how long will it actually last?

According to a report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), John Cena’s availability is largely due to the SAG-AFTRA writer’s strike. The ongoing strike allowed Cena and WWE to reach an agreement to return. He is currently advertised for events through the next eight weeks.

One higher-up noted that if the strike ends before Cena’s advertised run is finished, WWE will wrap up anything he’s involved in. Cena will return to working on his non-WWE projects, but there’s no concern about him missing any dates if the strike were to suddenly end.

It’s worth noting that while John Cena is scheduled for multiple SmackDown tapings in September and October, he might not be on TV for all of them. During one of Cena’s last runs in WWE, he returned and appeared on numerous live event and dark match segments.

John Cena is serving as the host of WWE Payback in Pittsburgh. He will then return to SmackDown on September 15 in Denver. Cena is also scheduled to team with Seth Rollins against IMPERIUM at the WWE Superstar Spectacle in India on September 8.
