Angelina Love Is Open To Taking A Backstage Role After Her In-Ring Career Ends

Canadian-born wrestler Angelina Love has been part of the business for almost two decades. She is currently signed with the National Wrestling Alliance. Recently, she shared that she is interested in taking up a backstage role when her in-ring career is over.

In 2004, Angelina Love made her debut. Since then, she has competed in multiple companies such as Lucha Libre, IMPACT Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and other Independent promotions. She has also competed in WWE’s developmental territories such as Ohio Valley Wrestling and Deep South Wrestling. The 41-year-old star has captured several champions, most notably, she’s won the TNA Knockouts title an astounding six times.

Love was recently a guest on the Busted Open Radio podcast, where she discussed a lot about her career. She revealed that she still has one more championship run in her. But she would rather take up a non-wrestling role and train the young and upcoming talent.

“I mean, would I love another championship run with something somewhere? Of course. I don’t feel ready to physically retire tomorrow but I feel like I’ll just know when I am but you know, I do wanna go into some kind of backstage role, whether it’s like a trainer or an agent, helping people with promos because that was a really big thing for me. I’m about to turn 42 in a week and I’ve been doing this since I was 18 so it’s been more than half my life and my entire adult life and I’ve spent probably more than 15 years doing TV so I feel like I have a lot to offer the next generation, those who are up and coming. So that’s an interest for me too,” said Angelina Love. [H/T Post Wrestling]

Angelina Love is excited for IMPACT Wrestling’s 1000th episode

While speaking on the same episode, Angelina Love shared her excitement for the upcoming 1000th episode of IMPACT Wrestling. The Canadian Angel is set to make an appearance on the episode along with former WWE Superstar Gail Kim.

“But yeah, it’s really exciting (IMPACT 1000). Gail (Kim) and I trained together. I’ve literally known her since I was 19, probably 19, because her, Traci (Brooks) and I were doing (Scott) D’Amore’s BCW shows back in the day on the Ontario indies. We trained together in Toronto and then once we started the Knockouts division, I mean I was married to (Awesome) Kong for a very long time, as was Gail. So yeah, it’s really cool. I feel like it’s going to be very emotional, just with the nostalgia and the energy so I’m really looking forward to it… 1,000 episodes, that’s an incredible, incredible celebration and I’m so excited that we get to be there because it’s been a minute,” said Angelina Love.

The 1000th episode is set to be taped on the 8th of September. The show will air on the 14th of this month.
