Ring Of Honor Results (9/7/23): Athena Defends Against Allysin Kay

Ring of Honor Results – September 7, 2023

This week’s episode of Ring of Honor Wrestling on HonorClub kicks off with Athena blaming Billie Starkz for costing her team the trios match at All In Zero Hero. Allysin Kay interrupts and tells Athena to pick on someone of her own caliber. After initially declining Athena is egged on by Kay and Starkz to put her title on the line.

Athena (w/ Billie Starkz) defeated Allysin Kay to retain the Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship

  • Athena hits the O-Face on Allysin Kay to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, Athena encourages Starkz to slam Kay’s head into the title. Starkz refuses, and Athena does it on her own. Athena calls Starkz weak and tells her to stand there and think about what she did.

Tony Nese (w/ Smart Mark Sterling) defeated Silas Young

  • Tony Nese hits the running knee in the corner on Silas Young to pick up the pinfall victory.

Dalton Castle is backstage. Castle hilariously complains about everything that’s currently distracting him from completing his goals in Ring of Honor. Castle says he can’t even be happy about his new t-shirt because of it.

Angelico and Serpentico defeated Shaff and Adam Priest

  • Serpentico locks Adam Priest in a submission to pick up the victory for his team.

Kiera Hogan faces Leila Grey on Ring of Honor later tonight

Kiera Hogan is backstage. Hogan talks about her opponent and former friend Leila Grey later tonight. Hogan says she doesn’t care who she faces; she’s just looking to showcase her skills inside the ring.

Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue defeated The Renegade Twins

  • Skye Blue hits Code Blue to pick up the pinfall victory for her team.

Ring of Honor Six-Man Tag Team Champions The Mogul Embassy defeated Griff Garrison, Gravity, and Metalik in a Proving Ground match

  • Brian Cage hits a powerbomb on Metalik to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Kiera Hogan defeated Leila Grey

  • Kiera Hogan hits a swinging neckbreaker bridging pin on Leila Grey to secure the pinfall victory.

Maria Kanellis is backstage. Kanellis says she has an offer to give to Griff Garrison. Cole Karter brings Garrison in. Kanellis tells Garrison that he has a lot of potential as long as he’s aligned with the right people.

The Infantry and Willie Mack defeated August Matthews, Davey D, and Josh D

  • Shawn Dean scored the pinfall victory for his team.

Lee Johnson is backstage. Johnson seems supremely confident going into his Proving Ground match later tonight against Ring of Honor World Champion Claudio Castagnoli.

Leyla Hirsch defeated Lady Frost

  • Maria Kanellis and Cole Karter watched the match from the stage. Leyla Hirsch locks a cross-arm breaker on Lady Frost to win the match via submission.

Kanellis offers Hirsch a handshake after the match, Hirsch declines and leaves the room stating that she’s doing just fine on her own.

Eddie Kingston and Ring of Honor Pure Champion Katsuyori Shibata defeated Blake Christian and Gringo Loco

  • Katsuyori Shibata hits the PK on Blake Christian to pick up the pinfall victory for his team.

Josh Woods and Smart Mark Sterling are backstage. Sterling says that Woods issues an open challenge to any of the top pure competitors from around the world.

Ring of Honor World Champion Claudio Castagnoli (w/ Wheeler Yuta) defeated Lee Johnson in a Proving Ground match

  • Claudio Castagnoli hits Swiss Death on Lee Johnson to secure the pinfall victory.

Iron Savages (w/ Jacked Jameson) defeated Caleb Konley and Ren Jones

  • Iron Savages won a quick squash match

Athena scolds Billie Starkz backstage for leaving her hanging earlier on tonight. Athena says she’s going to give Starkz some “Minion training.”

Best Friends, Darius Martin, and Action Andretti defeated The WorkHorsemen and The Outrunners

  • Trent Barretta hits Strong Zero on one of the Outrunners to secure the pinfall victory for his team.

The four men celebrate in the ring as Ring of Honor Wrestling goes off the air.
