Could we see Gunther have a run with a WWE World Championship in the near future?
WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther recently spoke with Wrasslinews. When asked if he has intentions of chasing the world title in the future, Gunther said he believes it’s the natural progression for his character.
“Yeah, I mean, that’s the natural progression from that one, I think,” Gunther said. “But we’ll see where that goes. I’m still the Intercontinental Champion. I’m not planning on losing the title. We’ll see; the Rumble is in a few months. If I’m in there, I think I’m one of the favorites. That would lead to WrestleMania. Yeah, we’ll have to see.”
The leader of Imperium recently broke the record held by WWE Hall of Famer Honky Tonk Man and became the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion of all time.
