IMPACT Wrestling Congratulates Chris Sabin For Breaking Chris Sabin’s X Division Title Record

Chris Sabin is a 10-time X Division Champion.

He now holds the record for the most X Division title reigns in company history, beating the record (9) previously held by… Chris Sabin.

IMPACT Wrestling commemorated Sabin’s latest win by acknowledging he broke his own record.

“Congratulations to @SuperChrisSabin on his 10th X-Division Title reign, breaking Chris Sabin’s record of 9 for the most X-Division title reigns in history,” IMPACT Wrestling wrote on Twitter.

As if that wasn’t funny enough, his ninth title reign (also in 2023) broke the previous record of eight title reigns held by… Chris Sabin.

The closest number of reigns (for a competitor that’s not Sabin) is 6; AJ Styles, Jay Lethal and Austin Aries are tied for that spot.

Hail Sabin!

New Gig

IMPACT X-Division Champion Chris Sabin was a recent guest on Sunday Night’s Main Event. Sabin was asked about returning to IMPACT Wrestling in 2020 and if he knew he’d still be there three years later. Sabin said he returned in 2019 to be a backstage agent for the company after his third ACL tear. He said he wasn’t sure what his in-ring future was at the time.

“I’m not sure if I had any real expectations as far as that goes. I started just as an agent,” Chris Sabin said. “I tore my ACL in 2019. So later that year, while I was recovering from surgery, I was just working backstage as an agent for IMPACT. I wasn’t even sure what the future held for, like my in-ring career. I knew I wanted to wrestle. But this was also my third ACL tear, so I wasn’t sure exactly how my body would react if I’d be able to be healthy enough to continue my in-ring career and stuff, but it worked out that way.”
