The Watch List looks at what matches you should be watching, and they are recommended by today’s professional wrestling stars.
WrestleZone recently spoke with Maven, who was asked to pick an underappreciated match or moment from his career. Plenty of fans still bring up the infamous moment when he eliminated The Undertaker from the 2002 WWE Royal Rumble match. Maven said he really enjoyed working with Randy Orton, and he’s proud that he can boast of having a win over Batista.
“Two. There’s a couple matches I had with Orton. I thought Orton and I always wrestled [well] together. And then obviously I have a pinfall victory against Dave Bautista. Yeah, I wish people would bring that up more. That was the night that the inmates were running the asylum and I slapped Batista backstage, and then we took it out to the ring. Yeah, not many people can say they have a pinfall victory against The Animal.”
Maven went on to clarify that he’s never upset talking about his moment with The Undertaker, because it made his career.
“But listen, that said I am in no way shape, or form upset that I’ve had to answer The Undertaker question as much as I have. Because that one match gave me a career. So I’m to this day, I’m honored. I’m happy, and I will be thankful forever that I was able to just be in that spot with him.”
