FTR and Aussie Open continued their rivalry at AEW WrestleDream.
At AEW WrestleDream, FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) defended the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher). The two teams have been feuding for quite some time. They briefly clashed at NJPW Royal Quest II in October 2022, where FTR beat the NJPW stars to retain the IWGP Tag Team Championship. On Sunday, FTR’s AEW titles were on the line.
As expected, the two teams put on a clinic and showed why they’re two of the best tag teams in the wrestling world today. The physical, hard-hitting match took a toll on the competitors, as Wheeler seemingly hurt his ribs and Davis apparently injured his wrist. Aussie Open had FTR on the ropes at multiple points, and they were on the verge of victory when they hit the Shatter Machine and the Coriolis. But in the end, FTR persevered and hit a Super Shatter Machine for the win.
