Adam Copeland’s New AEW Intro Was Recorded By A Familiar Face

You think you know him? Beth Phoenix knows Adam Copeland pretty well.

Copeland’s AEW arrival was capped off with a familiar audio sample. But it wasn’t the same “You think you know me” phrase on his WWE theme song.

He’s still using “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge. Now, a female voice is featured on the AEW version of the “You think you know him” part. Bleacher Report’s Chris Mueller spoke with Adam Copeland after he made his AEW debut at WrestleDream on Sunday night. Mueller previewed the interview and said Copeland confirmed that the voice is none other than Beth Phoenix.

It was also mentioned that Phoenix and Copeland recorded the clip themselves.

Stone Rose and Bone

Outside of the ring, Beth is an accomplished singer. She released an EP, Stone Rose and Bone, in 2021. She told Slam Wrestling what the project means to her.

“The pandemic brought a lot of things into perspective… [It] helped me get a lot of grief out, to put these feelings into these songs,” Phoenix said when asked about the inspiration for her EP and what spurred it on. Made in conjunction with WWE’s music group, the debut EP is four songs, each with its own flavor.
