Lacey Evans Names Her Proudest Moment In WWE

Macey Estrella names her proudest moment as Lacey Evans in WWE.

Speaking on Road Trip with Teddy Long and Mac Davis, Evans was asked what went wrong and whether she got to portray the character she wanted to in WWE.

“Absolutely. I requested and insisted from the jump, from NXT, that I wanted to tell my addiction, my depression, the mental health, the sh*t life that I had, I wanted that to be on TV,” she said. “Unfortunately, I had to twirl around and rip skirts off and bend over and pull a little hankie out.”

The former WWE star says she finally got the chance to tell her real story in WWE, which she considers her proudest moment in the company.

“My proudest moment in WWE is when I got to tell my legitimate story on live television in front of millions and millions of hurt, depressed, addicted, sad human beings. I know that there are babies out there who are stepping over their parents’ bodies right now, who think about Lacey Evans and what she still accomplished, regardless of what she’s been through. I know there are parents out there who saw the hurt in Lacey Evans’ face,” she explained.

“To me, that’s better than any title that I would ever hold for any minuscule amount of time in WWE. That was what I wanted. There was a lot of pushback as far as would it get over. I didn’t give a sh*t if it [did]. I need the live TV moments; I think that that was my disconnect in WWE.”

An independent woman

Evans said she wanted to help people who were hurting in the world. She finally got to do that by sharing her story instead of playing a character.

“There are people out there who have been passionate about it, who have watched it since they were babies. Man, I came in, broken, hurt, and wanting to, more than anything, help people in this world. And I finally got to do that. You guys know how the business is, you have to need them. You gotta need them for them to be able to pour all of it into your bucket. They’ve known from the beginning, I don’t need nobody,” she noted. “I don’t need nobody, and that’s a scary thing, to have an independent person who don’t need you.”
