Ricky Starks sets the record straight.
Fans noticed Ricky Starks recently applied to trademark his ring name. According to the application, Starks applied for the trademark for “Action figure toys; Action figures; Action figures and accessories therefor; Toy action figures; Toy action figures and accessories therefor.”
This led to some speculation about Starks’ motivation for the trademark, but he clarified that this was an amendment to an existing application. Starks originally applied for the trademark in May, but that was for entertainment services and wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler, and other merchandise.
“I filed for it back in May. I forgot to include some other stuff, ha,” Starks wrote on Twitter.

Ricky Starks was recently a special guest on the Battleground podcast. In the interview, Starks mentioned that he believes he isn’t getting the respect that he deserves. But at the same time, he is not worried about it either.
“I don’t think we’re there yet. But I also… I’m not the type of person that is… wait… how can I say it? I’m not wrestling to try to win the respect of everybody right? I feel like that is a impossible task. I do feel like this year has been kinda bumpy as always. And the opportunities that I’ve had have been good. But it’s always about the stuff that happens afterwards right? And that’s a big thing for contention. Is like, ‘alright! let’s see how this kind of plays out.’” Ricky Starks said.
While speaking on the same podcast, Starks also mentioned that he’s a very hardworking man and hopes the fans see that as well.
“I do think some people are like, ‘Wow! alright, Ricky is more than what we thought.’ I’m not saying every match that I have people are going to rate it five stars or whatnot. That’s just not going not happen But, I would at least hope if I don’t earn someone’s respect at least I have someone who says, ‘one thing he does is he works very hard. He does not phone it in.’ Every match I genuinely work as hard as I can and give it all, give it all my all.”
