WWE SmackDown Viewership Decreases On 10/20, Demo Also Drops

WWE SmackDown viewership decreased on October 20.

According to Programming Insider, this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown drew 2.130 million viewers (preliminary total), down from last week‘s (preliminary total of) 2.330 million viewers. 

The final total for SmackDown (via Wrestlenomics) saw 2.254 million viewers tune in on October 20, which is still a small drop compared to 2.417 million the previous week.

SmackDown scored a 0.51 rating in the 18-to-49 demographic. The demographic rating is also down from last week (0.62 rating in the same demographic). Despite this, SmackDown still ranked first on network television for Friday night.

In addition, SmackDown still had increases in overall viewership and the 18-49 demographic compared to the same episode last year (aired October 21, 2022).

What Happened on WWE SmackDown This Week?

This week‘s episode of WWE SmackDown opened with Paul Heyman. He was interrupted by LA Knight as the two men exchanged words over the upcoming WWE Universal Championship match between Knight and Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel.

Elsewhere on the show, Rey Mysterio agreed to put his United States Championship on the line against Logan Paul at WWE Crown Jewel. John Cena and Jey Uso also continued their rivalry with The Bloodline. The latter was removed from the building and fined by Nick Aldis for appearing on SmackDown uninvited.

In the main event of the show, IYO SKY defeated Charlotte Flair to retain the WWE Women’s Championship. Damage CTRL tried to attack Flair after the match, but a returning Bianca Belair arrived to even the odds.
