Lance Anoa’i Confirms MLW Release

Lance Anoa’i has reportedly requested his release from Major League Wrestling.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Lance Anoa’i has asked for his release from MLW. As of this writing, it has not been granted by MLW.

Per Sapp, on MLW’s side, there were “some issues” earlier in 2023 that the two sides were trying to fix. However, at the moment, Anoa’i is looking to leave. He has not wrestled for the company since July, and he is not set for any upcoming shows. Sapp also pointed out that he was not included in the company’s newest online roster update.

In recent months, Lance, a member of the Anoa’i wrestling dynasty, has been wresting for NOAH. He is a former MLW World Tag Team Champion and a member of the Samoan SWAT Team with  Juicy Finau and Jacob Fatu.

Update: Anoa’i later took to Twitter and confirmed that he requested his release. In the post, he thanked Finau and Fatu.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.

Former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Hammerstone recently confirmed that he requested his MLW release. More information is available here.
