Tetsuya Naito: I Never Felt That I’d Like To Wrestle Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson is not on Tetsuya Naito‘s list of dream matches.

Bryan Danielson is set to wrap up his career as a full-time wrestler in the next year, leading many fans to speculate about potential dream matches for him.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, NJPW star Tetsuya Naito admitted that he never felt the urge to face Danielson.

“Back in the day when he wrestled in NJPW, I’d watch his matches on TV and in the buildings,” Tetsuya Naito said through a translator. “I liked watching him, but I never really felt that I’d like to wrestle him.”

When asked whether he would invite Danielson to join his Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) stable, he stated that the answer was easily “No gracias.”

Tetsuya Naito On Potential Match With Blackpool Combat Club

Tetsuya Naito has stepped through the Forbidden Door as AEW and NJPW have built a strong relationship in recent years. He was asked about the possibility of a clash between LIJ and Blackpool Combat Club, and he highlighted the appeal of his stable.

“I don’t really know about the state of wrestling in other countries, so I don’t know if that’s an attractive match,” Tetsuya Naito said. “But if it were a question of us challenging them, of course they would accept. There is no more attractive competition in the world than Los Ingobernables de Japon.”
