Jerry Lynn: AEW Plans Have Been Finalized ‘Late’ To Prevent Leaks, Keep Things Confidential

Jerry Lynn is not a fan of things getting out ahead of time.

A recent comment from F4WOnline.com‘s Dave Meltzer (via Wrestling Observer Radio) is gaining traction after it was mentioned that AEW storylines are being finalized much later than before. According to Meltzer, AEW talent will have times when they don’t even know what plans are on the day of a show.

“It’s almost at times like we used to talk about WWE. Which is also very frustrating for talent,” Meltzer said. “A lot of guys have a lot of input on what they’re doing, so they’re doing stuff, but they don’t really know a long-term direction.”

Jerry Lynn has since responded to the comments, posting a statement of his own on Twitter. Lynn, a former ECW star and current AEW producer, indicates that plans are solidified later than in the past because it’s an effort to prevent leaks.

“Because wrestlers and God knows who else have and continue to leak info to the sheets, podcasts, etc. So Tony tries to keep things confidential,” Lynn wrote on his Twitter account. “You wouldn’t want to know everything before you see a movie. Anyone who leaks info is doing damage to the product and the industry.”
