Bryan Danielson Has Surgery For Broken Orbital Bone, Out Until ‘Later This Year’

Bryan Danielson‘s recovery might not be as long as fans first expected.

As previously announced, Bryan Danielson suffered a broken orbital bone. He was expected to be out until 2024. The injury seemingly occurred on the October 25 episode of AEW Dynamite. There, Orange Cassidy and Kazuchika Okada hit him with an Orange Punch and a Rainmaker. Previous reports noted that it was believed to have occurred on the October 21 episode of AEW Collision.

Speaking on AEW Control Center ahead of the November 1 edition of AEW Dynamite, Tony Schiavone provided a brief update on Danielson.

“Near the end of the match, Danielson took an Orange Punch from Cassidy and a Rainmaker from Okada. That double shot injured the orbital bone in Danielson’s face. He’s undergone surgery. He’ll be out until later in the year.”

Claudio Castagnoli will look to avenge Danielson when he challenges Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship on the November 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.
