Jim Harbaugh Reveals How He Became Friends With Ric Flair

Jim Harbaugh and Ric Flair are arguably two of the dirtiest players in their respective games.

Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh recently sat down with Jordan Mendoza of USA Today. When asked how his relationship with the All Elite Wrestling star came about, Harbaugh revealed their friendship goes back almost 30 years.

“It goes back to 1989. I was playing with the (Chicago) Bears, and Brad Muster was a huge fan of ‘the Nature Boy’ and wrestling,” Jim Harbaugh said, “(Flair’s) infectious personality, just instant friends. The cool part was they said, ‘You grab a towel; you and Brad are on the hype squad,’ and (I) just remember going out and cheering for Ric. Been to many of his shows and competitions, and he’s one of a kind, the best.”

Jim Harbaugh was recently suspended by the Big Ten commissioner for alleged sign-stealing of other teams in the division. The NCAA investigation is still ongoing.

Ric Flair took to social media to comment on the suspension, tweeting out:

“I’m Actually Shocked At The Big Ten And NCAAs Treatment Of Coach @CoachJim4UM! He’s More Man Than All Of You COMBINED! Take A Long Look At Yourself And Understand That The Team Will Stand Tall For Their Great Coach And Will Continue To Kick Ass! Go Blue! WOOOOO! @UMichFootball,” Ric Flair said in a post.
