Clarification On When QT Marshall’s AEW Tenure Will Officially End

QT Marshall is leaving AEW, but not just yet.

On Monday night, QT Marshall announced that he had resigned from AEW. In his statement, he said that he saw the company heading in a different direction, and he chose to do the same for his career.

Marshall’s statement mentioned that “he will have fulfilled all obligations by the end of 2023.” WrestleZone has learned that while Marshall officially tendered his resignation to AEW, he is still working for the promotion through the end of the year. WrestleZone confirmed Marshall’s last day is December 31, and he will continue to work in a behind-the-scenes role until then.

QT Marshall worked a number of roles during his time in AEW. He served as a Vice President, Manager of Talent Relations, and on-air talent, among other roles. In addition to his work in AEW, Marshall is a former AAA Latin American Champion. He won the title in August, but lost it to Octagón Jr. at Guerra de Titanes on November 19, 2023.

QT’s final months

QT’s departure comes months after he confirmed he signed a contract extension with AEW. In September, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reported Marshall and AEW had been in contract extension talks.

At one point, Marshall’s talent contract was up, and he worked without one. However, the two sides eventually agreed to a deal that extended his stay with AEW through the end of 2023. Marshall confirmed he’d re-signed with AEW during a new interview with Jofo In The Ring.

“I will say this — I’ve always worked for AEW. I’m one of the Vice Presidents. That is a job that I have, the talent is just a second thing that I have as well. I’m lucky — like Brandon Cutler, two contracts. So yes, we’ve made another agreement and we’ll see what happens,” Marshall said. “I think until the end of the year — I don’t know. The dirt sheets know more than me. I don’t know how, but I’m there.”
